Morning.

Coffee?

In your favourite cup? Yes please. Ahh, that’s better.

And now I’m awake!

Oh, have I been waiting to give you this small brand special from a very sweet small maker. And when I say small, I mean hand makes - that’s designing, throwing, firing, glazing - all her original small batch ceramics in a shared ceramic studio in East London.

Turning Earth ceramics studio
The Turning Earth shared studio - how great is this concept to support and nurture ceramic artists.

I mean, the dream, right? Well, it would be if I had the patience and the skill!

On that note Suzy actually runs classes and hosts workshop events too; so if we did fancy a malbec and a make, a coffee and creativity, a wine and a wheel (pottery wheel that is) have a look at what’s coming up on her site - We Are Clay.

I swear it tastes better out your favourite cup.

Right, I’ll get on with it, this is Suzy and she makes my favourite favourite (EVER) coffee cups. Yes I am now mid thirties and this is a thing - who knew ten years ago the perfect size, perfect look, perfect pretzel handle little vessel would bring me so much J O Y !

But, it genuinely does. And who knew I’d transfer from always being a Northern tea drinking gal (still love a cuppa don’t get me wrong) to a morning coffee kinda WOMAN. Gosh, I’m grown up 😂

Café Studio B at home - one day I’ll have my small independent department store full of all these lovely things. And a caf!

See how cute it is! I had Suzy make these for me last year, in this perfect flat white size.

The generous soul that I am I also had a set made for a friend’s birthday - how nice a gift do these make? If I do say so myself. Especially for the person who has everything / an abundance of divine interior items (friend, you know who you are!).

I actually discovered the pretzel pottery thanks to one of the nicest hair appointments I’ve ever had, at Studio Rue. Which was also a new discovery to me earlier last year when they opened at Containerville along *Hackney’s Regents Canal.

* Practically opposite (across the canal) Cafe Cecilia, which I always recommend. The crispy sage fritti. Onglet. Deep fried bread-n-butter pud. Now I’m hungry (my god DO get the chips too).

I usually strongly dislike having my hair done, I just don’t find it particularly relaxing, having suffered with alopecia most my life (since age fourteen). Basically, I just feel like I have crap hair and am never transformed into Sienna Miller as I like to envisage 😂

BUT Taylor is so warm, so knowledgable and the lovely little space she’s created with Studio Rue feels so calm and intimate (max two customers at a time, you don’t realise how nice that actually is) - it’s amazing what you can do with a shipping container!

It just feels fresh, modern and that bit more special, you know? As always no #ad I just genuinely would recommend @studio_rue_. When I’ve been to Taylor it really has been the best my hair’s looked / felt in a long time.

RIGHT! Back to the pottery!

Would you like 25% off Suzy’s site? 🥨

Ooo, this sounds like a goodun to me - that’s a saving of more than two months subscription if you wanted to make use of the discount code I’ve organised especially for Studio B 😊 Thank you so much for supporting my work on here and I hope you love discovering these small makers as much as I do! x

I feel you would love these too!

Mugs are approx. £30 each for the larger size, fruit bowl £75, vases from £60 - if you’ve seen the price of Henry Holland’s (delicious) ceramic range then you’ll know this is not at all badly priced!
