Weekly Wishlist... hearts, flowers and pretty things FOR YOU
Since it's been V-day week I've had lovable things on my mind. And I just so happen to like heart shaped bags, flowers, lobster, pink-n-red & pretty frilly things anyway (always). Happy SELF LOVE!
Happy LOVE YOURSELF Saturday!
Yes, I’ve just made that one up. And, yes this should be every day of every week.
And no, I am not a Valentines day fan, sorry to be a Scrooge (or some kind of evil teddy bear holding a bleeding heart) but it’s a commercial day! Everything just shoots up in price - flowers, wine, going out for a meal (don’t get me started on set menus or amorous couples) or even an M&S dine-in increases to £25 for the pleasure of red packaging and an extra course.
And it’s just all so typical. Do not buy me a red rose on this day ever! In fact roses just aren’t my bag… unless they’re appliquéd to a bag that is.
I much prefer Pancake Day (my favourite! I may have eaten seven... thin ones) or National Margarita day (any excuse) or even International Women’s Day.
Yes, the latter could also be seen as a bit commercial but my very good Estonian friend (who is ten years older) told me that for as long as she can remember this has always been celebrated in her country. It’s tradition for men to give flowers on this day, even from male colleagues to all the women they work with.
I mean, kinda nice! Not very modern maybe, but I’d take the flowers and an old age tradition.
But, do we really celebrate International Men’s Day, you don’t hear much of it; isn’t it like having Mothers Day without Fathers Day? And what about those that don’t identify as either? Or for that matter, those that don’t have kids, happy pet parent day? Happy you chose not to have kids day? This opens a whole can of worms doesn’t it!
Okay, less politics, less Scrooge and more SUNSHINE!
I do actually love hearts and flowers, but in the less traditional sense… a heart shaped bag has been on my radar for some time, as has this 60 quid ring, and these statement flower earrings, and pink and red cutlery, and this print, and these pretty pants (whoever said I was hard to buy for, ideas a plenty!).
So here’s my VERY LOVABLE wishlist for the week, enjoy! x
€160) Nothing says I love you more than pink, red, gingham, bow tie fastenings and heart shaped pockets.
£60) Don’t break my glass heart.
£25 (each) Feeling fruity. These gave me a laff (best seat in the house, brilliant).
£60) Love is… a discount! I’ve never seen these Assouline travel books in sale, the coffee table bible! Down from £85. I may have loved myself and succumbed.
£70) If you did want everlasting flowers. Rather Simone Rocha, no?
£36) HOSTess with the mostess. 16 piece set at a very decent price for this, plus one of my fave colour combos!
*Side note the Matilda Goad ones are lovely, I bought them 2 years ago with a birthday voucher (I religiously wash them up not daring the dishwasher) but they’re even more expensive now (over x3 more than this set!).
£15.99) I can’t guarantee the quality but these do look very lovable! And cheaper than flowers (hopefully last longer too).
£375) See the sunrise with this bag (and someone you love - partner / best friend / dog / cat / pigeon).
I’m such a fan of this brand, the beaded mini dresses are insane (in a good way). I wish I’d got one for my wedding now… but covid didn’t allow us an after party. Next big BIG party!
£78) You’re my lobster. I definitely am when I’ve found you this Staud bag for 78 quid! Full price was £285. Welcome to Matches Rental (rent this from £44, or it’s available to buy for £78, which seems like a bargain!).
£79) Who doesn’t love a prawn cocktail? (known as a prawny C in our house). Yes, it’s an extortionate price for one glass… but if you love me 😂
£70) From prawn cocktail to Prawn Crystal!
Something that’s been on my wishlist since last summer (one of my secret small brands here 😉). I purely haven’t committed as I can’t decide which variation of glass or beaded, prawn or lobster, I LOVE the most!
£89) Dessert anyone? Set the table.
£40) Love is everywhere, even in your hair.
£295) Wear your heart on your beaded bag. Another bag, another heart, another small brand I’ve followed for a while.
£285) Women in history - Anne Boleyn Necklace. Really! This is inspired by Anne Boleyn’s ‘B’ necklace, genius. Also, how ahead of the times was Boleyn with her letter charm choker (or rather how behind the times are we).
Don’t worry every letter is available so you can give this heirloom your own identity. There’s earrings too (sold as singles, £65).
£15) Cherry baby. Look closely, it says love, and it’s a hair claw. Love it.
£24) The way to anyone’s heart… food candles. Baguette for me please!
£75) LOVE or HATE?
Since this had turned into a bit of an appreciation list for Wolf & Gypsy Vintage (above two finds too) I had to put these in here. This one’s for you Daisy Murray.
£32.99 (A3 size) Love is… about ten of these prints, so many designs I love from Nephthys Illustrated.
£50) Princess charming. Yes, I’m into the lobster claw, but I love the idea of collecting a mix of these Frkl. (freckle) charms (what happened to charm bracelets?).
I’ve seen them added to small hoop earrings too. SO CUTE!
€48) Can a girl have too many heart shaped bags?
The Pansy Garden) Don’t you LOVE to not have the same dress as everyone else and be able to say ‘it’s vintage’. I’ve mentioned Pansy before on here but I couldn’t not mention their next drop this Sunday (6pm, sign up!).
It’s their very special Romance collection, which is one of their biggest drops of the year, and it looks right up mine, and Bella Baxter’s, sheer street!
I hope you LOVEd. Have a LOVEly weekend. LOVE yourself right! xxx
Fell in love with the pink blouse but can only place orders above €210 for UK then shipping was another £55 🫣 had to let that one go …
