The summer of Daisy Edgar-Jones (and I've found those sunglasses)
Have you seen her recent looks? MY GOD I'd kill for her whole wardrobe (especially the Chloe). And if anyone is as obsessed with her super cool sunglasses I've found them.. and have the launch date 😉
My god I cannot stop looking at Daisy Edgar-Jones’s recent promo tour looks for the release of new mega movie Twisters - not that I know Daisy but I’m so excited for her for this big blockbuster role, and for her new ERA of style stardom.
I’ve loved Daisy ever since her role as Marianne in Normal People (the BBC adaption of Sally Rooney’s 2018 book) which I must watch again since this was released in 2020 (just googled it, my research skills are strong) - how has it been 4 years since this was on our screens! Gosh, we’ve blocked out those lockdown years haven’t we.
I always felt like Connell (and his chain, if you’ve seen Normal People you’ll know what I’m on about), played by Paul Mescal, got far more attention after this aired. Yes, lusty, verging on slightly pervy attention, but also praise for the role.
And his press attention / career seemed to sky rocket, but Daisy didn’t seem to get quite the same reaction despite playing an equally as (if not more) complex character, just with a more subtle style. It seemed hard to shake that dowdy school girl image of her character’s early years, whereas he instantly gained heartthrob status.
And it annoyed me! BUT THIS IS HER TIME!
*Fun fact did you know Daisy Edgar-Jones played Karen and David’s daughter (Olivia) in Cold Feet. I watched this years ago but did not realise when watching Normal People!
This is the summer of the Daisy. More precisely the Daisy dressed in Chloe Fall/Winter 2024. I mean she has just blossomed. Not just thanks to her superb stylist Dani Michelle (all hail) but also her hair, her make up, her general demeanour.
She looks, and seemingly feels (as she should) F A B U L O U S. Slightly shy, normal looking, English rose British girl (not that any of those are a negative) becomes Hollywood It-Girl. I’m still holding on to that dream for myself (not that I’ve ever acted 😂).
I long for a fringe like Daisy’s too; I have for a while to be fair, for that cool 70’s feel, alas my straight flimsy hair just does not behave in this manor! I’m almost as obsessed with her hair as I am her wardrobe… it’s genuinely making me consider becoming *brunette (again).
*I did it once, I naturally am that mousey haired British girl, but have been dying blonde for 20 years. I do recall now that me and my husband often refer to the short-lived natural brunette period as the ‘brown rat years’… not quite the new era I’m looking for!).
Okay, and finally I’ll move on to…
THE SUNGLASSES!
I’ve just been obsessed with these sunnies: the shape, the cool factor, the fact they just look so incredible on Daisy… and the fact they’re NOT Chloe!
Oh, but of course I’ve found the brand for us. Australian, sustainable values and surprisingly not a celebrity £££ price range - think approx. £175, so yes a premium price, but attainable to us normal people (pun fully intended).
And they’re made to last, with designs inspired by vintage styles (not lead by trends), using sustainable materials, biodegradable packaging and a solar powered studio.
Daisy’s pair are part of a special collab launching soon… WOULD YOU LIKE THE BRAND and THE LAUNCH DATE?
And MY GOD I’ve just this morning seen this Gucci look. I was already having palpitations over that jacket when I saw it in their runway show months ago.
And the bag you can only just see I’ve linked for you below too - YES IT’S AVAILABLE NOW and YES I WANT IT.
