Shopping Secret... wear unlogically, think poetically ❤️

All will become clear! A magical brand I've recently discovered, have fallen for, and feel Bella Baxter would approve of.

Hi! I know you’ll want to know my new SECRET but allow me a little chat first. It has some context, and a bit of a film review (someone asked me for this, so here you go!).

I finally saw Poor Things at the weekend, as expected, I LOVED it! I went for the costumes… ohhh, those frills, ruffles, massive shoulders, bloomers and big dresses, obviously right up my street (there is something known as the ‘condom cape’ in the costume design too, a sort of translucent yellow rain cape, which I actually loved too!). But I found the film hilarious in parts too, which I had not expected.

Poor Things - Plugged In
Poor Things Bella Baxter - Yes I now desperately want a shoulder cape just like this!! I am serious.

Very bizarre, slightly creepy, a little gruesome and grim, sexual - in a rather empowering way (be prepared for nips-n-bits), but I laughed out loud too. I rarely go to the cinema, once a year if that, and I probably am that annoying loud person! Didn’t help there were only about ten people there at 5.45pm last Friday.

Anyway! The main character, Bella Baxter(’s), way of looking at the world is actually something we could all learn a little from - seeing the world through a child’s eye, questioning and discovering, is something we don’t do enough of in mundane adult life!

It’s not for everyone, but I definitely recommend the film, and all I can still think about are the outfits (and the dance scene, google this, let’s all be that… free! Why do we care so much about the norms of ‘polite society’. If you’ve seen the film this makes more sense! I won’t mention ‘furious jumping’ 😂).

BUT, before seeing this, I had coincidentally just discovered this brand a week or two ago, and already fallen for it! I mean just look….

This brand reminds me a little of Vivetta, with a splash of Antik Batik, and a sprinkle of Sea New York = a very pleasing combination.

Thank you for supporting Studio B ❤️ I really hope you’re enjoying this! If you’d like to access all my Shopping Secrets (like this), full Weekly Wishlists, all product links, and all my new discoveries, make sure you sign up / upgrade for £1.50 a week - that’s less than half a flat white! I think you’ll like it. Bethany x

Every piece just made me smile… and want to dress in this romantic, whimsical, vintage Victoriana way, à la Bella Baxter!

WHO IS SHE (the brand) I hear you cry! Want to know this secret?
