Shopping secret / daily delight - this is a bit of both, with a new drop alert!
A new drop from one of my old favourites - a small, independent, slow British brand - 'handmade in England by one girl and her sewing machine' ❤️
Hello and welcome to May!
And to a new week, a short one for us here in the UK, which I think most my readers are (must crack on with my plans for world domination 😂).
Don’t you love a month with two bank holidays - obviously I do, but these four day weeks confuse my pea brain (giant pea, I won’t degrade myself too much) and they just fly by so fast, don’t they!
Working for myself for the past 6/7 years I always used to think my goal would be to work a 4 day week, but I can’t ever seem to fit everything in that I need to get done! Although, I’m not the best at rest, or saying ‘fuck it, I’ll finish that later’… I feel this might B where my problems lie.
Any-hoo, I’ll move on to this beauty of a brand, my point with that little intro was meant to B that I thought I’d give you a few shorter snippets this week - lets see if it’s a little easier to digest than a long essay of a wishlist (do let me know!).
And don’t worry I’ll be working on a wishlist again for next week, and of course I’ve got PLENTY more Shopping Secrets to come your way.
And your May SPECIAL for Paid Subscribers, for an exclusive Studio B discount on a sweet something something 😉 (this time it’s a home one, ooo it’s good! The portable lamps are mine!).
So! This is a small brand I’ve known of for years now; I bought a top from what I think was one of their first drops - I’ve just looked up my order confirmation and this was from 2020! And I still LOVE wearing this top (you know one of those summer treasures that comes out every year and makes you smile).
All handmade to order in the West Midlands 'by one girl and her sewing machine'. I love this about this brand… Chalsie Joan.
There’s something so special about made to order, especially when it’s all done by just one pair of hands. Lead times are surprisingly short at around 1-2 weeks, but this works as Chalsie only opens up for orders a couple of times a month.
And this drop Chalsie just opened up two days ago, so we’re good to go now!
I must admit I’ve become a little obsessed with this set (below) after I saw on Laura here (who has the most divine vintage studio herself). I do always love a set for summer - it just looks put together and if you love the print why not go double whammy!
For this I’d add simple leather sandals for nice lunch / drinks in the day, or dress up for dinner with the heeled equivalent (or cowboy ankle boots) - or how about with socks and chunky loafers.
** Actually, when I said welcome to May in the opening line there, I realise we already had two posts on here from last week (which was May, duh).
Both here if you missed them, and both rather lovely if you ask me (thank you to the friend who told me so, and the comments from people telling me what they had to run and buy!).
*** Final extra thing, I don’t get anything for any of the lovely things I show you in here, I never was an influencer, but a store owner (and a fashion buyer / merchandiser prior to this). I just love lovely things! And finding something special, supporting small brands and showing you wonderful finds you might not have known about 😊
Big BIG thank you if you’re able to upgrade to keep this newsletter going, paid subscriptions make this possible ❤️
As always I hope you enjoyed, back later this week with some more discoveries and delights (and yes that lamp treat).
