Shopping Secret... a Feb essential
After the rain comes a rainbow, or a bright and beautiful knit.
I’d been after this embroidered knit vest for the past 6 months since I discovered this happy little brand.
I feel like February could be a good time for this… still layering potential but once it (finally!) warms up I love the idea of this worn with wide leg jeans, sans any layers underneath (I don’t mean sans any underwear under the jeans, just to be clear!).
The brand is born and made in Kyiv and some of my favourite brands actually happen to be Ukrainian - Sleeper (who I know well as I was one of their first UK stockists about 5 years ago, when I had my online store), Vita Kin, Anna October - and obviously they still need our support more than most.
This range is small, bright and warm (I feel like it’s genuinely made with love!). I’ve fallen for the frill collar knits, the striped vests and of course this traditional embroidery!
Simple slow fashion, made beautifully in Italian merino wool in small quantities at their local atelier. I mean, it’s not even comparable, but how much sweeter is this than Zara?
I’m all for a mix of high / low but for me good quality knitwear is something to treasure.
Love it and look after it… moth protectors people! (I always use loads of these). Fabric sprays instead of washing (seriously I barely wash knitwear, often wearing a tee under anyway, so that picks up that lovely faint deodorant smell), fabric comb or de-bobble now and again… and it’ll love you back for years to come. Essentially the clothing equivalent of a hug!
Plus, some styles are unisex, so you know you could share… I’ve tried to convince my husband into this before, just so he might contribute to the cost, didn’t work 😂
