New Year, new me?

Not resolutions as such but some things I want to CHANGE (or improve on, 24 things to be exact).

Do you keep seeing lately those lists from people with their ‘INs’ and ‘OUTs’ for this fresh new year? Me too. And as much as I do rather enjoy them, if I’m honest, I’ve seen enough of them now.

But, they did make me think WHAT DO I WANT FROM THIS YEAR. And how do I get there.

With that in mind, I know I’ve got to make some changes; they’re not too serious, but things that will make a daily difference. Well, some of them, some are a bit more fun!

1) Get up earlier - I’m not a morning person, I do want to be, but I’m just a sloth in a morning.

I’m more Rachel than Monica.

2) Connect more - I’m a social person and I definitely do thrive on interaction, but have worked at home for years. I need to make more meetings happen and stop thinking of them as ‘time consuming’ or not ‘properly working’. Chats, community, collaboration drives creativity (for me) and feeds into so much more.

3) Get out the house sooner - Most days I get up, I work, I take Mabel out around 2pm (she sleeps until 1pm, really!), I work more, make tea (that’s dinner for those not from the north of England), then sit on my phone most the night (also work for me really). I need to get moving sooner, get a coffee, get the sleepy hound up for a brisk morning tootle, go to the earlier Reformer class (8am, ambitious I’ll admit), just get out and go somewhere.

4) Invest in art - I know I’ve said that one before recently. I’m gathering a small stash… problem is framing is a fortune (in my opinion), so takes me months to get round to. Buy canvases if you can is my advice.

A tuftluck original I bought from their instagram sample sale back in August… still yet to get framed.
