Jellies and ice cream, yey!

That's jelly shoes and an array of sweet treats, mostly in the form of summer dresses. Pistachio double scoop anyone? Who wants sprinkles and a cherry on top. ME!

Oh, what a glorious start to the week in London town, sunshine! Praise be. Now please please please let it stay.

(I wrote this line Monday… it’s now not stopped raining since then. AT ALL).

Life is just better sunny side up, which always begs the question why do we choose to live in England 😂. A friend just told me at the weekend that her and her husband are moving to Dubai… in a month! And I thought, GOOD ON YOU GIRL.

Now, Dubai might not be for me, but you know when you’re feeling like what’s next? What’s the next stage in life? What’s this all about?

At 36, married for 3 years (been with my husband almost 19!), that typically means ‘then comes the baby in the golden carriage’… but I’m not quite sure we’re there yet. If at all. But that’s a whole other article!

As usual I digress! For now we are rejoicing in the start of summer and very British desserts: strawberries and cream, pavlova, JELLY and ICE CREAM - on that note does anyone else just love a cheapo choc ice? *wanders off to the shop down the road to buy a box immediately*.

Sweet treat anyone? Let’s begin!

JELLIES!

Ahh the old school jelly sandal, does anyone else remember being obsessed with these as a kid? Yep, I had sparkly pink jellies. I wanted the heeled jellies too, probably around aged 8, and was always refused them, ‘too tarty’ apparently. 😂

Now as an adult I can relive this nostalgia (and I don’t want the heeled ones, mother was right).

Thank you Second Stories | Pink or Gold Glitter | for just 15 squid!

PRE-ORDER Jelly sandal
I’m going for the pink, obviously! They’re available to Pre Order now, shipping mid-June,

The original jelly sandal is actually from a french brand, Méduse, originating back in 1946. A fact I only discovered last summer, after being in Paris in late May / early June, during a heatwave (LOVE Paris but would not recommend in extreme heat… the urine smell. If you know, you know, and believe me you don’t want to know).

I rediscovered the jelly shoes on this trip as I saw a few (beautifully dressed) Parisienne small children wearing colourful jelly sandals. Naturally, I had to look them up right away and determine if adult sizes were available.

They are - Méduse | Sun Sandals | £18 (loads of colour options) or try Sun Jellies for a UK site (same Méduse jellies).

Yes, I wanted her whole outfit. She was so sweet too, we had Mabel with us (part of last year’s road trip I keep mentioning) and she adored her.

And does coffee jelly tickle your tastebuds? Wolf & Gypsy have this coffee brown pair | again just £15! A bit more neutral cool girl (I’m princess girl in the above pink glitter).

PRE ORDER Jelly Sandal
Again they’re on Pre Order, due to ship 10th June.

ICE CREAM!

You’ve got to have ice cream with jelly, and you’ve got to have some sorbet shades for summer. How about some rainbow sprinkles, strawberry sauce and a cherry on top?

I’ve tried to stick to a bit of a dress edit here, but there’s a sherbet sprinkling of some other bits too (including a great Anne Hathaway tie dye shirt dupe, if you’ve seen that new film you’ll know what I’m speaking of!).

All of these (plus more) coming up below! Huge thank you for supporting Studio B on here ❤️ some of the rest continues below for all, and ALL of the rest for Paid Subscribers. For just £1.50 a week you get everything in full, that’s all my buyer’s brain 😊 - for less than half a flat white a week! Truly, thank you x

Strawberry

Arkitaip | The Allegra Bustier Maxi Dress | £265 - 100% linen and just delicious (also comes in pale mint).

arkitaip Maxi Dresses The Allegra Bustier Maxi Dress in bubblegum pink

Double cone please, too tasty not to add more - Damson Madder | Alys Vest Pink Broderie | £65 and Vacation Pants Pink Broderie | £105.

Peach Sorbet

This must B a flavour but I was struggling for one to include this dress in my theme (when I go with a theme I run with it, okay!). And this dress HAD to be included.

I want to try it in this colour but see below in white - better image of how good the shape looks on - M&S Collection | Pure Cotton Midi Cami Shift Dress | £39.50.

Pure Cotton Midi Cami Shift Dress 1 of 1
Screams summer and I haven’t seen a lot of this colour around. I love it!
Pure Cotton Midi Cami Shift Dress 6 of 6
Clean and classic in the white. A lot of sizes are sold out in this colour mind.

Pistachio

Always a favourite. I feel like this shape could look amazing on, there’s something high end designer feeling about that pleated bust detail, which I’m calling ‘the fans’ (or to remain on theme ‘the double wafer’).

Mint Velvet | Green Puff Sleeve Maxi Dress | £229.

Double scoop please - Reformation | Malibu Linen Dress | £298.

Gold dust

Okay, this is a fancy ice cream with some gold glitter dust (I think I’m thinking of that M&S sparkly gold leaf gin they bring out at Christmas) but I saw these whilst on Mint Velvet - a phrase I never thought I’d say!

Mint Velvet | Gold Tone Starfish Earrings | £29.

Banana

My worst flavour but I would devour this dress! Well, and everything on this site. I need to hop over to Copenhagen with a big case for us all.

Mr Larkin | Maeve Dress | €343

MR. LARKIN, Maeve Dress, Dandelion

Banana Split

I’ve been watching this for quite some time and yep it’s just gone in SALE! My friend has had a Rejina Pyo Banana Bag for years and it is lovely in the flesh. And shares somewhat similar qualities to a banana split… always a classic and kind of iconic!

Rejina Pyo | Banana Bag Calfhair Print Brown | £248 (reduced from £495).

Cookies and cream

I had to get these Posse Polka Dots in here, are spots the new gingham this summer? Both always more style over trend, so worth investing if you love them and wearing year after year.

Posse do these spots in a few styles - a midi, a mini, a vest and shorts - but quite a few are sold out! I’ve managed to find the Lori Vest and the Lori Dress in SALE at just one site here (only a few left though!).

Try Selfridges and Harrods for the midi dress (it is rather lovely) and I’ve found the mini at Liberty - again all of these only have one size left in stock - dots have been hot!

@vicmontanari wearing the Lori Vest and Perri Shorts. The shorts seem to be sold out everywhere!

Knickerbocker glory

I always used to want a knickerbocker glory because Paddington Bear liked them (one for you there

Olivia Purvis
. And yes, I did eat marmalade sandwiches as a kid).

Nowadays I would rather like (LOVE) this dress, I think it’s so wearable for many different occasions - wedding, summer party, beach side walk, city break, holiday eves - Rixo | Kahlo Midi Dress Patchwork Blush | £275.

The same print also comes in this Evie style dress.

Which, off theme, Henrietta Rix (one half of Rixo) wore last week in this waterblossom print to the King’s creative industries garden party - and how amazing did she look (teamed with a £3 charity shop jacket may I add).

Raspberry Ripple

ME+EM | Smocked Two Tone Tulip Printed Maxi Dress | £150 - another one to dress up for wedding in the sun or simply throw on sandals for fun!

Lemon Top

You can help me settle an argument here, has any one else had a lemon top before? OMG they’re the most delicious - Mr Whippy vanilla ice cream topped off with a big tangy swirl of lemon sorbet - SO GOOD!

I feel like we used to get them at Whitby and Redcar when we were kids, however, despite also being from the North East, my husband has never heard of a lemon top! Claims they do not exist. Which I know is rubbish.

Moving on! Here’s my favourite lemon top (actual top now) - it’s from last year, sorry, don’t kill me! But I had to add it as it’s a froofy, lemony, sort of regency feeling delight, and one of the things I was most looking forward to wearing again this year.

I would say search resale - it’s Sea New York Loren Off-The-Shoulder Shirred Top.

I wore it loads but can’t find any decent pics! So here’s a rubbish one of me, and a fabulous one of Jessie Bush in her’s the other week (the first photo of her in this last year is what tempted me into getting it!).

And for something else zesty I’ve got this for you in SALE (you may have noticed sale season is already starting… seems earlier every year).

Celia B | Zale Dress Yellow | £161 (was £322) - I’d seen someone in this dress (I can’t remember who now!) and those frilly statement sleeves looked stunning. I’m thinking hello wedding season!

Mint Choc Chip

Ooo, another one of my favourite flavours. I’ve lusted after one of these Cecilie Bahnsen bags every season (as you may realise by now one of my favourite Danish designers) and on a random whim I’ve found this mint one below on one of my go-to preloved stores (another shopping secret of mine for you, this is a delicious dessert of a weekly wishlist isn’t it!).

Manifesto Woman | Cecilie Bahnsen 'Fallulah' Mint Green Organza Bag | £170 - They usually retail at full price for around £400 (*this only one was in stock at the time of publishing this).

Why am I even telling you this when I want it myself!

Bubblegum

Do they still sell this natural, no additives, very appealing WKD shade of blue ice cream? But it allows me to give you a scoop of this…

Has anyone watched that new Anne Hathaway film on Prime, ‘The Idea of You’ - total romcom, very easy watch, nothing exceptional, but I kinda enjoyed it. And Anne looks G.R.E.A.T. I now want her fringe (damn my rubbish hair) and most her outfits from this.

Anne Hathaway Tie Dye Shirt | The Idea of You Shirt

If you’ve seen it I’m sure you’ll know THE BLUE TIE DYE SHIRT from the Coachella scenes (I told you it’s an easy watch, in the words of Miranda Priestly ‘tie dye for Coachella. Groundbreaking’).

But I loved the shirt, tracked down the brand, The Elder Statesman, everything is a fortune (thousands) don’t even look, so course I found us an alternative!

Continues below for paid subscribers… with the shirt and a further 9 pieces too. Including another one of my ‘SHOPPING SECRETS’ (which is one of my favourite small and fruity Danish brands that you’re going to love!).
