Have I told you about...
15/01/2025 - Feat: £30 pyjama stripes, winter warmers (recipes + more sale finds), what's in my basket, feather boas, a pig necklace, baby slippers, some current culture and good things to click on!
Hello!
You know the drill by now, here’s my lovely little(ish) list of things I like, am interested in, think everyone needs to know about right now - just good things to click on!
Think of this like a WhatsApp chat with your group of good friends 😊 you know those ones where topics, recommendations, work, life, flow into tangents of really good stuff.
If you like this please do click the heart icon ❤️ (it helps Substack know you like my work). And if anyone would like to chat / add any suggestions / or just say hi, feel free to comment below. Thank you! B x
— M&S Pyjamas - I’d been looking for some striped pyjamas for a while but didn’t want to spend a fortune (I’ve had pricey ones in the past and they eventually fade with washing, wear and tear the same as any other pj’s - there’s just no point).
Enter these | £15 a piece (top and bottoms sold separately) | Cool comfort 100% cotton.

’s latest Substack (from last week), this one’s free for all to read and is full of interesting links (and a funny crab-hidden-by-dog story). I especially enjoyed these:- on Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle series for Netflix. I’m totally neutral on Meghan but this looks so sickly sweet i.e. horrendous / outdated / tone deaf that I kinda want to watch one (but as my husband pointed out that’s what will give the series viewing numbers).
This recipe, we made it on Sunday, I can confirm hearty and delicious (and easy).
‘Free stuff you can do that feels productive and self-improvey in bleak January’ by
.Bowes Museum and the mechanical silver swan! It’s near Barnard Castle, near where I’m from (Darlington), we used to go all the time when we were kids. I loved that swan!
— A few new SALE additions…
Shrimps | Memphis Coat Coffee/Romance | Was £650 NOW £487.50.
Jigsaw | Beck Tailored Jean | Was £95 NOW £47 (+ an extra 20% off sale now too)
Nué Notes | Ziggy Top | Was €204 NOW €122.
I know the weather will warm up a little and spring will soon be upon us (let us remember spring is actually COLD!) but these Nué Notes knits also caught my beady sale eye… and I love the same print layering: Crewneck, Knit Vest, Balaclava.
Celia B | Yuyuan Coat | Only 10% off but I do love this | £301.
And can someone please buy this to cheer up winter - Celia B | Babylon Coat | Was £405 NOW £324.
Finishing this sale selection with what’s been sat in my Ssense basket… JW Anderson | Multicolour Canvas Shopper Tote | Was £185 NOW £122 (yes the cat one).
Ganni | Gold Feminine Buckle Ballerina Flats | Was £345 NOW £192 - Actually, I’ve just found them for less | £157 | at My Theresa (if you’re a size UK 3, 4 or 5).
Stand Studio | Black & Off-White Edith Faux-Shearling Jacket | Was £480 NOW £327.
— This recipe, Butternut Squash Gratin, from another Substack I regularly check in with (and has a HUGE following) - ‘a newsletter’ by
. I’ve been after more wintery veggie recipes and this sounds incredible (thank you heavy cream).— Vinted! I know I mention it all the time but it really is one of the best business models out there, something that was nothing new, but they’ve just cornered the market with their user friendliness (it’s so easy to use isn’t it! And the easy delivery is the key, blows eBay out the water).
I say ‘just’ there lightly, it’s taken years, from Lithuanian founder Milda Mitkute starting a website with her friend in 2008 (aged 22) to sell her old clothes as she was moving house. Great Guardian article here I’ve shared before if you want to know more.
Did you know Vinted launched in the UK in 2014? Nope, me neither. I only started using it in 2023.
— And can I just share my latest Vinted win, since it tones so beautifully with the above image of Alison Roman’s squash and I’m just so excited about it (no smugness intended) since I’d been looking out for this (at the right price / size / condition) since last March!
— H&M Baby | Soft Sole Fluffy Leopard Slippers | £4.99 - The house shoe of choice every self respecting one-year old should own (gender neutral). I was searching for a fluffy blanket for my baby (the dog) and came across these… perfect for the birthday boy turning numero uno I know.
— Did we know Pernille Rosenkilde (@prosenkilde) had a shop? I’ve followed her for years, she’s one of my most swoon worthy style sirens (I saw her once at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2022, nearly died, isn’t it funny how big influencers have celeb status to us mere mortals).
So, how did I NOT know she has a small online store, Per and the Zoo, with some one off collabs and exclusives that are right up my street… case in point, THIS NECKLACE.
— On that note can we all please wear feather boas more in 2025 (when I say more, I mean at all. I probably haven’t worn one since age 12, when I have evidence a feather boa was on my Christmas list).
And style them inventively like so - can I tie one to a small glitzy bag for a wedding? I may try it!
— I’ll leave you with one more as I just realised these are now in sale, for the person who’s bored of winter boots: Stine Goya | Zurick Crystal Boots | Were £340 NOW £170.
— Also (sorry last one!), I’ve just last night finished reading the book I mentioned to you last week The First Bad Man | Miranda July - Oh, it’s so good! It turns into a story I wasn’t expecting (it’s, sort of, three stages of one woman in one book: enemy, lover, mother) and the ending is rather lovely. Not what you’d expect either and a pleasant change, I do like a happy / conclusive ending.
On that note… THE (happy) END!
Thank you for reading, back this weekend (I hear from feedback Sunday AM is the weekend read preference) with my New Year thoughts, challenges and changes!
Bethany xx
Thank you soooo much for the shout out xxx
