08/05/2025 - Feat: a big relaunch, a sample sale, tickets to book, shorts to wear, books to read, a best vest, THE woven basket bag of my summer dreams, and Danny Dyer (yes, you read that right).

Another short week, I can’t keep track of the days or where the year is going!
Although I did read the other day we’re 34% of the way through the year, which feels a little less than I thought in my head, so, for once, I sort of feel like I’ve clawed back some time!
But, time I want to do something with, problem is I’m still working that out… but, hey, it doesn’t matter when you start. If it’s right, it’ll happen. Start tomorrow. Start in June. Start at 3.25pm. Start slow. Just. Start. Somewhere.
But, for now, I’ve got plenty of fun things to show and tell (I should have called these round-ups that).
I’ve got things I want to buy, things I want to go to, things I’m hoping are great, things I know are great, some small biz, some books, some shorts (yes, sunshine is coming back) and a summer basket bag (woven leather and under £180) I can’t stop thinking about (hint, it’s green).

— Ready for Wimbledon (in July) with this Caro Editions Tennis Club Tee… hand embroidered, sadly it’s rather pricey (*cough* €546), but beautiful! I would if I could.
— Topshop are launching a teaser of their August return to the high-street (they’ll return with concessions apparently) with a ONE DAY ONLY pop-up in Shoreditch this Saturday (10th May). O’course this just so happens to be the one Saturday I’m away for the whole month!
I’d be intrigued to see what it’s like, what’s in store, if it’s like the old days… please report back if anyone goes!
And this line from Time Out’s Annie McNamee rings so true… (my god, does anyone else remember struggling into those Topshop Jamie jeans).
“If you’re over the age of 20, the words ‘Big Topshop’ will probably elicit some intense emotions. Memories of wandering around with your friends while your mum waits in the car, crying in the changing room trying on jeans, seeing a top with ‘free spirit’ written on it and knowing you have to have it.”
— Rejina Pyo Sample Sale (sorry, another London centric one) starts today until Saturday. I’m away from tomorrow (Brighton hen do! At this age it’s possibly my last one. Ever. Go hard, or go home) but wondering if I can squeeze in a quick drop by today… although, I’ve heard from previous times the queue is insane.
— One mini heatwave down and I’m looking at holiday shorts, how cute are these! Me+Em | Floral Crochet Short | £125.
— Who likes short, shorts? Or, rather, who likes city shorts, especially leopard ones. I remembered I wanted these last year… or dreamt them up, I can’t quite remember which, but they seem to be almost sold out: Le Bon Shoppe City Shorts Leopard | £99.
— Nothing new here, you’ll all know this brand I’m sure, and as beautifully made and as perfect shape / summer size these bags look, I’ve never really been too tempted myself… until these new colours: Dragon Diffusion | Rosanna Woven Leather Bag | £313 (16 colour options).
— I was going to go for the green or blue above until I saw this BEAUTY… I think I slightly prefer the shape, and the avocado green (bold, bright and very similar to the above, but a tiny bit toned down).
I also prefer the price at £178. Plus, it’s made to order by a (very lovely) small business…
