H&M's new SS25 capsule = chef's kiss 😙
A capsule wardrobe of 20 looks - I've picked out my gems (and I only went on H&M to look for sportswear)
I only went on H&M to look for sports leggings (not an item I invest in, despite wearing the same pair on repeat… for years) but immediately became distracted (before even looking at any sportswear, for this also see M&S) by their new SS25 spring capsule, which low and behold, launched yesterday.
I’ll admit H&M isn’t my favourite store; the questionable sizing / quality / mass production, but their limited capsule collections always do have some gems.
Look, I’m no sustainability genius, and I’m not pretending to be, but for me I always try to follow a ‘buy less, buy better’ approach.
Yes, this may mean a more expensive item, made well, in better quality (and generally more sustainable) fabrics, but I’ll wear that item for years (I’d always rather spend on one item I LOVE, than five low quality items that then come to the same cost).
But, for me, a GEM of an item is a ‘buy less, buy better’, even if it is from H&M, because if it’s something I absolutely love, I know it’ll become one of my most worn, and most treasured pieces (and she’ll be with me for years).
With that, I give you my H&M basket… I won’t B buying it all, but here’s my jewels in the spring flower crown.

It’s not my first rodeo
STUDDED JEANS | £74.99 - Super cool, nice to have a pair of denim with a bit of something going on. Not at all similar, but have you seen the new Simone Rocha embellished denim? I saw it in store last week and it’s utterly dreamy (but a dream on price range).
Hello stud
STUDDED BLAZER | £139.99 - Okay, I may like studs! I’m not usually a blazer girl (you know when something just doesn’t suit you? For no apparent reason, it’s just not so me) but the studs have made this feel more like a jacket than a blazer for me.
Going up a size (to a M) for extra oversized.
Soft as butter
LEATHER JACKET | £379.99 - I’d been thinking about a light coloured leather jacket for spring / summer and this does look delicious.
Chloé Crochet
CROCHET-LOOK DRESS | £74.99 - Okay, we all know it’s not Chloé but this does have that vibe. A little too summery for right now but how nice would it be under some of these jackets.
70’s suede
DOUBLE-BREASTED SUEDE JACKET | £379.99 - As I was saying that dress under a jacket, this is the one I had in mind. I know, I know, suede jackets are everywhere and that makes them a little samey (and a tad boring in my honest opinion) but I do like the longer length on this one.
Lemon sorbet
LACING-DETAIL CHIFFON BLOUSE | £17.99 - Hmm, I do want to try this as I really like the lace up / the lemon / the floaty-ness but the low price tag is putting me off (will it be really cheapo? Will I sweat like a pig in it?). BEWARE the well styled studio images!

Pixie Pliqué
FLORAL-APPLIQUÉD LACE DRESS | £89.99 - So cute! The appliqué feels rather Cecilie Bahnsen and I might go for this in two sizes up to get a more oversized Cecilie feel. ** It’s unlined but I like the idea of styled over jeans (when not on a sunny holiday, which this looks perfect for).
COLLARED LEATHER JACKET | £369.99 - I’ll leave you with a classic. I liked this brown leather bomber too, but sold out!
So, it seems I’m into studs and leather right now!
The above is all quite classic (for me) but I really liked the spring injection without the obvious florals, and the ‘on trend’ polka dots - I’m sorry, I just strongly dislike polka dots (don’t be put off, just my personal opinion, that has no validity!).
As always, inject your own style into what you team with core pieces like the above - for me I need some colour - so will be throwing that in there with small snazzy bags, a long hair ribbon, bright socks and so on.
The vision of the studded jeans, with the studded blazer, with a bright grass green oversized shirt I already have is the look going on in my mind.
I hope that helps a tiny bit with the conundrum of spring dressing - the freezing cold to unseasonably warm (but welcomed!) weather has thrown me too (can I admit spring is my least favourite season to dress for).
But, hey, let us prance like a spring lamb and enjoy the sunshine! (whilst we have it… don’t look at next week’s forecast), B xx
