Hello again!
It’s me, obviously 😂 ha-ha, I haven’t yet had a wine, I promise! Although, it is coming up to my favourite part of the festive season… morning bucks fizz time! We like to start this in our household on Fridays, but I’m holding out until next week, mid-December marks an acceptable time to introduce this.
So, moving on! Yes wine is the theme but mainly it’s art meets fashion; two of my favourite topics, and this is one of my favourite collabs I’ve seen this year.
Sshepaints x Cubic London
*I declared this year I was investing art, alas I don’t have much to invest, but I’ll do you my semi-affordable art edit soon (maybe over Christmas). And I did in fact commission an amazing 100 x 70 canvas from this artist earlier this year, which I must show you!
The she is Ruby Hughes, the woman who is the wonderful Sshepaints. I’ve followed Ruby from the start and have always loved her work (since I am a pasta and wine gal).
I’ve given you a couple of Ruby’s pieces in here before, and actually recently told a friend about her as he asked me in desperation for pressie ideas for his special someone - which I think is a very good idea (both asking me and buying a piece from Ruby).
She has some prints and reasonably priced smaller size original canvases that would make such a gorgeous, thoughtful, gift (to be fair I’d want to keep them for myself, that’s the Christmas spirit-n-all right there. Ha!).
Ruby is also about to have her first baby any day now, so an extra reason to give her some small brand love!
And I would now suggest adding the jumper to someone’s stocking too (brown / red for me please!).
And Cubic London are, as the name suggests, a London based small brand. Think well-priced core pieces with that touch of creative London flair - a little bit Peachy Den / Pixie Market / old Topshop (always a good thing in my opinion).
