Daily Delight... spicy margs all round!
Always. It's 5pm somewhere right? Don't worry in this case I'm giving you SPICY SOCKS!
If you know me you’ll know I’ve always loved a marg, especially a spicy marg and I’m going back years here (before margaritas even appeared to be on trend).
So, it was only natural that Nicci at Second Stories gave me a heads up she had a little collab launching… SPICY MARG SOCKS!
£12 | SECOND STORIES X Mardy Bum Active Club "Spicy Margs" Sports Socks
I bloody love them and just thought I better share this delight with you too!
Socks = always essential.
Socks n sandals = now an acceptable / cool thing to wear.
Slogan socks = required for the above.
Socks n sisters = Nicci (Second Stories vintage) and Anna (Mardy Bum Active) - this ‘Spice Girls’ collab was born from 20 years of friendship, forged whilst working in high-street fashion buying (I’d love to hear the tales). Both now have their own independent small brands focusing on values they believe in. Cheers to that!
They come in ONE SIZE (UK 5-8) and are LIMITED EDITION.
I hear they’re selling out fast (over half gone in two days!) so I’d get a shake on if you like them… then mix that celebratory marg later.
Speaking of which I was thinking if I could pick my favourite spot for a good spicy marg… it’s a hard one!
I would say the Soho House Picante is one of my faves (to make at home too, linked the recipe there. Trust me, you need the coriander).
Satan’s Whiskers 110% do a GREAT one, this is one of my top that we return time and time again for.
I am also partial to a jalapeño marg - One Hundred Shoreditch I’ve only been to once but they did a delicious one at the rooftop bar (I’ve mentioned it in here before, just don’t go on a weekend eve. A Shoreditch Saturday is not the one for the, erm, clientele).
Or if you happen to be in South East London KiliG in Deptford (a Columbian / Filipino restaurant) do a DELISH jalapeño margarita (just ask for less ice I’d say, for me one big block is enough).
As do Bluethroat Bar, just across the road by Deptford Station. Dreadful name for a bar if you ask me BUT the mezcal jalapeño El Chapo is a strong contender for my favourite!
I will never say no to a frozen margarita either, even in winter. I find just one (or two) delicious… saying that when Forza Wine introduced a FROZEN PICANTE last summer I may have quaffed quite a few on their Peckham rooftop. God, I love London in proper hot summer.
And if you like a little take away picnic margarita I do like the Whitebox Cocktails single serve mini tinnies. The Squeezy’s classic marg is genuinely strong and tasty over ice (some pre mixed cocktails I can’t say I rate) - ice available at all good coffee shops near your park picnic spot 😂
AND I’ve just seen they’ve recently launched a spicy version!
SOCKS N SPICY MARGS ALL ROUND! Enjoy x
