If anyone would find it helpful to hear exactly what my recent breast surgery consisted off, how anaesthetic is, the general surgery / ward experience - read on!

Okay, so this is a bit of a longer written one rather than lots of pretty finds, secret sources and special something somethings - so zone out now if you don’t want to hear about me and my boob op!

I mentioned last week I’d give some more details on the breast surgery I had just over two weeks ago, as I thought it could be helpful for anyone who may be about to experience something similar or, if like me, you hadn’t had surgery since you were a kid (which I don’t remember).

As, as wonderful as the NHS are (and I mean that), the information I was given was very limited… the fact I received letters in January about attending pre-op assessments before I even had any confirmation surgery was - a) definitely going ahead, b) what exactly this surgery would entail, c) had a surgery date - gives you an idea. “Oh, so I guess they are doing it then?”.

Firstly, I’m all fine!

I had a sizeable lymph node lump removed in my right breast - I’ve had for as long as I can remember, never changes, but never been properly checked, other than doctors feeling it (no scans, biopsies). Only seeing this surgeon did she think it was best to get this removed now, rather than continue to go off the assumption ‘we think it’s fine, any changes come back’.

This breast also needed an implant… as it was 3 cup sizes smaller than my left… which has always been odd…

Full story and all the detail continues below, beneath the paywall, as it’s a rather personal post (just telling the world about my weird tits 😂). But I think it’s really useful to know for any surgery, so please do subscribe and share if this is relevant to you or someone you know. As always, big thanks for supporting on here! x
