5 things you should buy / try / read / eat this week
Actually there's way more for Paid Subscribers. Those £50 sandals (I live in) are BACK, lemon linen, a DREAM blue shirt, cinematic red, GOAT tiramisu, lash sculpt, margs and my reviews.
My god how is it almost the end of February ALREADY! Why is it that January drags, Feb - April starts to fly by (hooray lighter nights!), May - September gets full of summer plans / events / holidays, thus flies by even quicker, and then you hear those sleigh bells ringing again before you even know it!
Sorry, lets not focus on that, but basically life is getting going again ain’t it, and we’re getting busier. So, this week is a bit of a mashup of a few lovely things I have to tell you about - that I have bought / want to buy / have booked / watched and read. Voila!
I also have a VERY EXCITING post coming to you this Friday, to alert you to another post that will B going out Saturday morning… YOU’LL LOVE THIS ONE!
Paid Subscribers this will be another one of your exclusive discounts, for now I’ll just say it’s very lovable slow fashion that makes you feel good 😉
B EXCITED.
Buying
Charlotte Tilbury Cinematic Red £27 (linked at Space NK, sign up for 15% off).
I’d seen this on Carin Falk and gasped at the lippy shade. I am forever a lipstick lover, I wear it every day without fail (I look ill without it, I’m often cold and pale blue lips is not a look on me!). The hunt for the PERFECT dark red / burgundy / wine shade is always on, a bit like the search for the perfect pair of jeans, kinda endlessly ongoing.
I’ll let you know how it is. And usually I am a Nars Velvet Matte Lip Crayon fan, for their staying power and ease to apply. I have 3 or 4 that I regularly rotate but my main go to shade is Mysterious Red, £23.
M&S Leather Strappy Sandals £49.40 - THEY’RE BACK!
Honestly BUY THESE! And do it NOW, They sell out as soon as some sunshine starts to appear. I have these sandals from three summers ago and LIVE IN THEM every year.
So comfy, a very good designer dupe, and a price you don’t need to worry about (honestly I love nice things, but I don’t see the point in £900 sweaty sandals. Which I would scuff and would run into the sea wearing at some point. And then would cry about later).
Every year I have so many people ask me where they’re from, in person, or in any summer outfit shot I post on Studio B’s instagram, as they’re mostly all I wear. They do come up big, as I find with everything from M&S, so I sized down to a UK 5 (I’m a 5.5 / 6). And I will B buying these again since my older pair I’ve now worn to death!
And do let me mention the one time someone said to me ‘are those sandals The Row’. Err no, M&S actually. AHA! I did originally buy them 3 years ago as they were such a good Row dupe at the time (still are).
Hai Floris Shirt Blue £169 (comes in brown, red, white and pale pink too).
I like the blue! The perfect spring update that you can wear so many ways - smart, casual, cool, layered, loose. I went for blue as I loved this shade and it’s a colour I don’t have much of in my wardrobe.
I’d also like this exact shade on my nails, I wish you could colour match! Actually, that’s genius, maybe this is where I finally make my fortune!
I also had it in mind to team with red after seeing this image, and I think it’ll work for a few GREAT colour combos - blue n lemon, blue n brown, blue n burgundy / red / pink.
Speaking of lemon…
Anine Bing Jay Linen Trousers Pastel Yellow - Were £250 NOW £99 at Revolve. I actually bought them Monday this week from Net sale for £88 (awaiting arrival, and £95 incl. delivery) but they seem to have disappeared!
They scream Spring don’t they! I always love lemon (see my outfit post here with my 2023 faves) and I love tailored / wide leg linen trousers, but these look like a slightly smarter pair that my wardrobe doesn’t yet have… but is about to. I think I’ll wear these loads.
Casual = a loose linen or cotton shirt (I have a pink and white striped one from last year from The Frankie Shop). Add embellished ballerinas or mesh flats. Cool Casual = an oversized printed tee and flip flops / chunky leather slides.
Holiday = a linen waistcoat / vest (I have one in mind I’ll add in next week’s wishlist), or a printed linen shirt, or a snazzy cropped top… I already have a moss green lurex one with a feather trim (Oseree - found some in sale here still actually, in other colours).
Smart = that blue Hai shirt above, the colour combo! Add grandad woven loafers, a mule, or strappy short heel sandals. Or THIS…
That Aligne Daphne Blazer is due BACK within days - I have insider information it’s around the 26th Feb. Sign up on the product’s back in stock notifications.
The shape and the butter wouldn’t melt yellow just gets me. Putting me off a leetle bit that I’ve seen so many insta famous people wearing this already (I wonder if brands ever think over saturation is a bad thing, food for thought).
Alas, it does look like such a great shape… and would be so nice for ‘clean style’ with those lemon trousers above!
And a final yellow, Supermarket Daffs £1, instant joy! Surely daffodils are the very best thing you can buy for a pound! Other than about a sixth of a monthly Studio B subscription of course 😉
AND one more BUYING / WANTING as these just called my name…
